- Lot Description
Anderson, Robert (1805-1871). Union general during the Civil War, famous for being in command at Fort Sumter. ALS, 1.5pp, 7.75 x 9.5 in., following 0.5pp Special Orders No. 54, Washington. August 13, 1841.
Anderson, then a captain, copies Major General Scott's Special Orders No. 54, for General Abraham Eustis, due to the orders including an item regarding a relative. Anderson informs Eustis he will accompany General Scott to the North West Frontier, and discusses his prospects for promotion, as well as matters relating to other officers.
Condition
Typical folds, with minor discoloration and one small hold along the upper horizontal fold.
Comb has all teeth (46) present and intact.
