350 caliber, 26" barrels, S/N 16756. Marked on the center rib J N Rigby & 72 St James Street London, center rib is fully matted with three-leaf express sights and front ramp with hood. Left Barrel marked with Special 350 bore Rifle. Right barrel marked for special cordite cartridges bullet 300 grains. Blued barrels. Beautifully bank note engraved boxlock frame. Top lever is engraved, engraved triggerguard. Engraved takedown lever on the forearm. Finely checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip buttstock with checkered steel buttplate. Also has sling swivel eyelets, one on the barrels, and the other in the stock. The following is information obtained from official Rigby records No.16756, 26 July 1900, Bramley Firth "Class C hamless top snap action anson - Deeley .350 Special Rifle double", 26" barrels, 14 5/8 LOP, 8lbs 12 oz, "Sighted 1.2.300 yards std 2 lfs flush." Our consignor purchased this rifle from John Rigby Company in 1959 while serving in the United States Army as an Officer and pilot. Has its original canvas and oak casing.
