Condition
The canvas was not relined but possibly restretched. Under UV light, spots and lines of in-painting are visible, located in the sky area, along top stretcher and including a larger spot at center top, at the rabbet, but also located in the landscape (in the tree, on the roof of the house, and in the grass). A repair is visible on the reverse of the canvas, and also on the painted surface, under black light. The painted surface also displays a horizontal streak across the center, suggesting heavier brushstrokes in that area. The black light examination reveals a little bit of in-painting in that area, but only a few thin lines, which indicates that these brushstrokes are most likely original. Finally, there is some mild craquelure throughout.
