Of specific note is an entry for State taxes paid by Beeckman, including an amount for the slave Plato, on behalf of Batters Van Benthuman (SP) signed by John G. Rumney, who was a member of Van Schoonhoven's militia (Albany County) during the Rev. War, and must also have been a tax collector for the county.
