- Lot Description
.30-06, 22" barrel, S/N 41477. Blued finish, checkered, pistol-gripped walnut stock with checkered Remington buttplate and checkered forearm. Elevation adjustable Buckhorn rear sight, ramped front sight blade with brass bead. Sling swivels in toe and forend. Magazine floorplate marked in four lines: SECRETARY OF THE NAVY TROPHY / NATIONAL SERVICE RIFLE CHAMPION 1993 / GYSGT F.L. MURPHY / USMC 2369-82X. To put that in perspective, a perfect score would 2400-100X. Gunnery Sergeant Murphy was also the recipient of the 1994 Gunnery Sergeant Carlos N. Hatchcock II Award. A fine example of a Secretary of the Navy Trophy Rifle presented to a USMC gunnery sergeant who shot an impressive score in competition and has had an equally impressive military career. Included with the rifle is a copy of the Fourteenth Annual Modern Day Marine Military Exposition Program, which includes a photo and brief biography of GSGT Frank L. Murphy on pages 10-11. Includes original factory box, numbered to the gun.
**Requires C&R or FFLVery fine to nearly excellent. Retains nearly all of the blued finish, with a fine bright bore. Mechanically functional. Stock with some lightly scattered bumps and dings from handling. Program and box about very good.Condition
