Remington Factory New Model Navy Cartridge Conversion Revolver
.38RF caliber, 7.375" barrel, S/N 40563 . Blued finish, silver-plated brass triggerguard, varnished walnut grips. Remington factory conversion reassembly number 440 present under the barrel, on the frame under the grips and in the grips. This same assembly number is likely present internally on the various added cartridge parts like the recoil shield. Standard factory three-line barrel marking. Factory-added loading gate and recoil shield, ejector rod, rimfire and hammer nose. Factory modified cylinder and factory modified frame for use with rimfire cartridges.
Very good. Retains much of the blued finish on the barrel and some on the frame and cylinder with loss due to flaking and wear. Exposed metal with a dull gray patina with some scattered surface oxidation. Hammer with some case color remaining. Clear markings throughout, mechanically functional, good bore with moderate pitting. Grips very good with some edge wear, handling marks and scattered bumps and dings, retaining some varnish.Condition
