8mm Lebel, 32" barrel, no S/N. Blued finish, walnut stock. Long range rear sight, stacking lug, bayonet lug, sling swivels. Includes correct pattern French M-1886 Lebel bayonet & scabbard. Some 200,000 Mle 1907-15 rifles were contracted for by the French with Remington ca 1916, but the rifles were rejected by French military inspectors due to failure for the rifling and chamber dimensions to meet French standards. As long Berthier rifles that are unaltered and not rebuilt are hard to find, the Remington 1907-15 is often the only reasonably available option for most collectors of French small arms in the US who want the infantry rifle version rather than the more commonly encountered carbine.
