- Lot Description
.44 caliber, 3.9375" stepped, round, twist-off canon barrels with baluster turned rings at the transitions. Bright finish, German silver and iron mounts, walnut grip. Box lock action with reinforced swan neck cock, wide frizzen, double flash pans with sliding cover on left pan, operated by a lever on the reverse of the frame. Right side of frame engraved Henshaw / Cambridge, with decorative boarder lines around frame and simple foliate motifs on triggerguard. English commercial proof marks on bottom of chambers, numbered "1" and "2" respectively, with barrels numbered as well. Oval shaped German silver escutcheon in wrist with grotesque mask on butt. A well made and substantial double barreled flintlock pistol from the last quarter of the 18th century.

Very good. Metal with a smoky gray patina, most marks remain crisp and engraving is sharp. Mechanically functional, with good bores. Stock is very good, with bumps and dings.Condition
