- Lot Description
8.75" x 4.7". Brass body with brass lid and unmarked spout. Two carrying rings. Spout has likely been replaced. Both faces depict American eagle clutching arrows and olive branch above bugle with "US". Top marked "R. DINGEE/New York" along with "1833" date. This unique flask is included as number 856 on page 362 of Ray Riling's The Powder Flask Book, where he describes flasks of this type as a variation of the flasks purchased by the US government.
Good. Body has a darkened patina with some wear and loss of definition on eagle and bugles. Spring is damaged but functional with spout devoid of screw. No repairs visible on seam.Condition
