shield made of buffalo rawhide and painted in green, white, yellow, red, and black; two Avanyu figures flank a central green hourglass element; thick hide straps are tied through shield; diameter 23 in.; shield is accompanied by a buffalo hide painted cover; cover, with drawstring closure is also painted with buffalo and raincloud imagery; turkey beard is attached to center, diameter 23 in.
