English, 18th century. Oil on canvas, unframed. A portrait of a young woman asleep at her desk while writing a letter, with an older man hovering over her, unsigned; 48.25 x 37 in. (canvas size).
From Matthew Charlton Gallery, London.
Condition
Trimmed and relined. Old craquelure. Repaired old tear. Several spots of in-painting scattered throughout.
