- Lot Description
Single page from the Harry House hotel register, 11 x 17.25 in., signed by Pony Express riders Calvin Downs, William Pridham, and Sam Gilson. Hamilton, MO, July 15, 1880. Next to each of their signatures Pridham has written "P.E.R. Reun.," suggesting that the riders may have come together for a Pony Express Rider reunion. Framed, 27 x 26.25 in.
In 1860, the Pony Express was established to provide mail service between St. Joseph, MO and Sacramento, CA. In total, there were approximately 225 riders delivering mail on the Pony Express, and their exploits still live on in Western lore, even though the Pony Express only operated for a mere 18 months. Material autographed by Express riders is rarely encountered.

At the request of the buyer, Cowan's will authorize the shipment of purchased items. Shipments usually occur within two weeks after payment has been received.
