Photograph album, 7.5 x 10 in., green cloth with gilt "Photographs" on front. 160 photographs, most 1.5 x 2.5 in., but a few as large as 5 x 8 in. Some are family, some are filed images of what appears to be an artillery unit. (possibly 115th RFA? was in a box with other items from that unit). Also a couple of newspaper clippings about the wedding of Thomas Simmons and Joyce Mowbray, possibly the collector of the photos in this album.
Album, 6.5 x 8.5 in., rust cloth cover with "Reminiscences" on front, beveled edges of boards, spine gone. 67 small images, some family (the dog is first!), some of barracks and groups of men in uniform.
Small album with black cloth, semi-flexible covers, black "construction paper" leaves. Over 140 small images, arranged chronologically - with title page "Here, There and Over There, it begins in Delaware, then Camp Sheridan, AL, to a furlough before leaving on a convoy to Baccarat. There are views of a hospital ward, the battlefields at Argonne and Ypres, Belgium, and much more, including some large guns. There are also a couple of commercial postcards included. The ship that was homeward bound is centered on a page by itself, with exclamation marks all around it! There are also 18 pages roughly the size of the album with copies of some photos and typed captions below.
A large album is labeled "Post Cards" in silver gilt, approx. 9.25 x 11.25 in., green "leatherette." Each page has slots to hold three postcards front and back. This album has 121 cards. Many are family, some show men in uniform. Back when postcards were at their peak of popularity, you could send in your photos and have them made into cards (or printed originally as postcards). That is what some of these appear to be. There are also a few commercial postcards in the mix.
Plus two slipcases, each with 11 folding maps and plates to accompany: Johnson, Douglas Wilson. Battlefields of the World War, Western and Southern Fronts. A Study in Military Geography. New York: Oxford University Press, 1921. The book is not present. Each in grey cloth with black label on spine and "Battlefields of the World War Plates" in gilt.
