- Lot Description
.63 caliber (about 16 gauge modified choke), 47.5" octagonal-to-round barrel with baluster-turned rings at transition and bottom rib. Walnut half-stock with carved stock tip, checkered at the wrist. Back-action percussion lock marked in a ribbon Schemenn & Wirsing with gold highlights and lightly engraved hammer and bolster. Browned finish, iron mounts with scroll shaped semi-pistol gripped trigger guard tang and German silver wedge escutcheons. Brass tipped wooden rammer.
About good overall. Metal with combination of old browning and dark age patina. Light engraved enhancements on lock, hammer and barrel remain mostly clear, lock mark is mostly legible. Mechanically functional, bore is fair to good, very dirty and lightly to moderately pitted. Stock is cracked and repaired through the wrist, otherwise good with some old added oil finish.Condition
