English, 1812. A George III sterling silver lidded entree dish of rectangular form, having a shell-form handle, gadrooning to borders, the cover engraved with an armorial and motto HONOR ET HONESTAE, marked for London, Sterling, and date mark 1812 and with maker's mark PS for Paul Storr; ht. 5.5, lg. 12 in., silver wt. 60ozt (1875.5g).Condition
Light denting to lid corners. Lid has a line of scratches around curved section.
