- Lot Description
Painted Brass Bodied U.S. Military Drum with Sticks
12.5" x 15.5". Brass body with blue painted wood rims, leather ears and hemp rope. Body adorned American eagle and shield motif. Includes documentation from Historical Marketing LLC describing restoration, including but not limited to: repainting of eagle, repair of rope and replacement of bottom head. Possibly a pre-war drum converted for military use. Documentation asserts 90% of parts are original and includes images of the item pre- and post-restoration. Also includes one pair of wood drumsticks.
Good overall. Previously stated restoration appear clean with top head showing some use. Brass has an even bronze patina throughout with some isolated areas of darkening. Ropes are in good condition with some repairs visible.Condition
