Albumen photograph, 4.5 x 9.5 in. on slightly larger mount, captioned in pencil on verso, "Detachment of Indian Soldiers from C troop 5 Cav. during evictions of the Boomer in 1885 from Oklahoma." Photographer unknown. A rare panoramic view featuring an African American woman posed with a group of Buffalo soldiers, American Indian scouts, and a Boomer who stands near the center of the group with hands behind his back and head down, almost certainly in the midst of being arrested.
Condition around the edges & mount has wear. Image has lightened. Few chips, areas of loss along margins.Condition
