- Lot Description
Cabinet card view of the first building built in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, as identified on mount verso, with signs for the "Herald Office" and "Bakery" displayed out front. Two newspapermen, two bakers, and an aged gentleman stand outside the building, looking directly at the camera, two of which are identified as "Mr. Hubbard" and "Tom Smith." Uncredited. Ca 1894-1897.
A fabulous photograph not only capturing the first building in Tecumseh but also the headquarters of one of the earliest newspapers established in the town following the land run.
Condition
Image has lightened. Overall very fine. Light corner wear to mount.
Piece has been reglued at the joints.
