American (New England), 18th century. An ebonized bannister back armchair in mixed woods, having a scalloped crest with turned stiles and finials, leading to shaped open arms, five half turned bannister back above rush seating, rising on turned legs with double stretcher support; ht. 46, wd. 24, dp. 20 in.
Provenance: Property from the Hermann Gleeson Collection of Americana, San Antonio, Texas
Purchased from O'Neill-Leonard Antiques, Austin, TexasItem is in good condition with paint loss with age. Newer rush seating and restored feet.Condition
