- Lot Description
Continental, 19th century. An oil on tin depicting a ship scene, probably a Spanish New World expedition, topped by an enamel clock dial, encased in a gilt shadow box frame with relief floral decorations. Behind the frame sits a working four inch cylinder music box that activates at the pull of a string, includes wind up key; 18 x 24 in. (sight), 39.5 x 34.5 in. (frame).
Provenance: Property from the Irene and Theodore Leverett CollectionSome losses to gilt, mild crazing to paint. The music box is in working condition. Cowan's does not guarantee the working condition of these items at the time of purchase.Condition
