Stereoview from The Modoc War series, titled 1617 - Bringing in the Wounded after an Engagement, with credit to photographer, Edward J. Muybridge, and publishers Bradley & Rulofson, San Francisco, CA.
Muybridge's series on this 1873 event remains one of the few "on the spot" photographic records of the Indian Wars.
Condition
Right photo with very slight corner loss at lower left corner. Light surface mottling in top right portion of photo and mount. Light, even toning. Overall very fine condition.
Some wear on back of jockey. Patina.
