- Lot Description
.45-70, 32.625" round barrel, S/N 154412. Blued finish, walnut stock. Low arch breech block marked US/MODEL/1873 lock with spread-winged eagle and US/SPRINGFIELD. Three-click tumbler, 1879 pattern rear sight, smooth trigger, sling swivels and stacking swivel. Outline of illegible cartouche at wrist. Reverse buttstock marked GN 508, with an additional smaller 508 stamped upside down, and a "W" carved as well. Obverse buttstock carved "WP." Cleaning rod present.
Fair. Metal heavily oxidized with light to moderate pitting over most of the surfaces. Mechanically functional, fair bore with moderate pitting. Wood well worn with numerous dings and mars and an old added coat of varnish.Condition
