Model 1878 Waist Belt and a Model 1886 Mills Cartridge Belt
1878 belt of black leather with brass rectangular "US" plate, complete with catch. 1886 belt of dark blue web with 45 loops for .45-70 cartridges, one end retains the remnant of the oilcloth binding, has a cast brass "Whittemore" pattern "US" H plate. Complete with 44 .45-70 cartridges, most are commercial examples of the period.Condition
Fair to good; both show age and service wear, finish flaking on the leather belt, loops worn and frayed on the web belt with one split. All brass with brown age patina.
