- Lot Description
.59 smoothbore, 40" barrel. Bright finish, iron furniture, walnut stock. Standard Springfield lock markings, dated 1862 with matching date on barrel. Correct 1861 pattern rear sight, sling swivels, original swelled shank ramrod. Two fine cartouches reading TBH and ESA. Includes a reproduction sling.
Very good. Metal lightly cleaned to bright with some minor age staining and discoloration. Light pinpricking scattered along much of the barrel. Mechanically functional. Bore is bright, but bored smooth with no rifling. Stock with bumps, dings and mars, and two very nice cartoches on the flat.Condition
