- Lot Description
Model 1859 Sharps Rifle
.52 caliber, 36" barrel, S/N 36651. Barrel fitted for saber bayonet with a lug on the underside of barrel. Patchbox with walnut buttstock and longer forearm to accommodate the longer barrel. Only 600 produced in the serial range of 36,000-37,000.
Provenance: A.C. DaumCondition
Entire rifle was arsenally refinished. Several of these Model 1859 Sharps with 36" barrels have this fire blue finish. This rifle is excellent-plus, retaining most of that finish. Stock and forearm have some nicks and dings. The bore is very good.
