- Lot Description
.69 caliber, 42" round barrel secured by three barrel bands, nsn. Bright finish, iron furniture, walnut stock. Arsenal converted to percussion from original flintlock configuration. Lock marked SPRING / FIELD / 1834 to the rear of the hammer, with the matching date 1834 on the breech plug tang and P / Eagle Head / V inspection marks. Counterpane with two clear script inspection cartouches, with a clear final inspection cartouche behind the triggerguard, along with sub-inspection marks. Sling swivels, modern ramrod, period Enfield pattern cone protector. Includes US M-1816 socket bayonet.
Good to very good. Metal with a salt-and-pepper evenly pinpricked patina, showing very light pitting that is evenly distributed. Mechanically functional, good bore that needs to be cleaned. Stock crisp with clear inspection marks and numerous light handling marks and minor mars. Bayonet good and well marked.Condition
