- Lot Description
Germany, mid-19th century. A porcelain figural group by Meissen titled "Europa and the Bull" from Greek mythology, depicting Europa seated atop a bull with two maidens at her feet, with manufacturer's mark and impressed 2697 on underside; ht. 8.5. wd. 8, dp. 4.25 in.
Condition
One leaf is broken off on top of bull's head. Repair to leaf on bull's front shoulder, to rose on back of the neck, to leaves in front of bull's right horn, to foliage behind the left horn, and to front leaf on basket (all minor repairs). Light discoloration/unknown residue on bull's back, and light wear to gold paint. Condition requests can be obtained via email (cleveland@cowans.com) or by telephone (216-292-8300).
