Lot Description

Barnes, Joseph K. THE MEDICAL AND SURGICAL HISTORY OF THE WAR OF THE REBELLION (1861-1865). Washington, D.C.: Government Printing Office, 1870 - 1875. Four of the eventual Six volumes in this famous compendium. 12 by 9 1/4 inches and over 3 inches thick - rebound in modern blue buckram with gilt titling to the spines. Present are Volume I, Parts 1 and 2; and Volume II, Parts 1 and 2. These 4 books complete with all maps, charts, and color plates. Garrison-Morton 2171: "One of the most remarkable works ever published on military medicine." Lithographs are by Bien.

Condition

Modern bindings are in Very Good condition. Contents show intermittent foxing but are generally clean.
