- Lot Description
.22RF, 24" octagonal-to-round barrel, S/N 13533. Blued and case hardened finish, checkered deluxe figured walnut pistol-gripped stock with plain forend. Additional barrel in 20 gauge measuring 24", having the original Maynard factory checkered Schnabel forend. This Maynard 1882 Sporting rifle has the original matching numbered barrel, that was re-chambered by the Stevens Arms Company and so marked on the barrel. A Stevens telescopic sight was added at that time, with a 19.325" tube, serial numbered 556. The barrel was also refinished at the time of alteration. The barrel has what appears to be a non-factory smooth forend. The original forend being fond on the 20 gauge barrel, which is not numbered. The rifle also has a folding tang sight and a folding globe front sight, as well as a two leaf barrel sight. Frame with standard Maynard patent marks on the reverse and Mass Arms markings on the obverse. A lovely little set sporting set.
Fine, retaining most of the restored finish, with the shotgun barrels retaining what appears to be original finish. Fine bores throughout. Mechanically functional. Crisp wood with minor bumps and dings, clear optics.Condition
