- Lot Description
Matching Pair of Model 1733 Single-Shot Flintlock Pistols
French. A matching brace of pistols. .65 caliber, 15.4" round smoothbore barrels, brass front sight, octagonal at the breech, proof marked and engraved on the top "MARESSEE GENERALITE DE BOURDEAUX," fully legible on one specimen, partially on the other. Flat French-type lock with gooseneck hammer and iron pan, reportedly restored with original parts; actions in working order, but hammers do not hold on half cock. Full walnut stocks, raised carving around the lock, tang and ramrod channel, with engraved brass furniture, one specimen stamped behind the breech "B DE MUSSIDAN 1750," the same markings are present on the second pistol, but are very faint. Complete with contemporary wooden ramrods.

Fair to good. Bores dark with minor pitting, overall scattered age spotting. Normal age and service wear.
