Massachusetts Queen Anne High Chest
American (Massachusetts), ca 1730-1740. A Queen Anne high chest in maple with pine secondary, the upper case having a cove-molded cornice and map drawer over four thumb-molded graduated long drawers, the lower case with two thumb-molded graduated long drawers, the bottom drawer embellished with fan carving, all above shaped aprons and sides and rising on arched legs with sharp arising knees and ending in pad on disc feet; ht. 69.75, wd. 41, dp. 21.75 in.
Some age splits and scratches. Some chips to corners of drawer fronts. Top drawer of lower case with a veneer patch near upper right corner. Period brasses, but probably replacements. Missing pendants. Missing lower molding on left side of upper case.
