This special "Election Edition Issue" features a large, graphic display of a patriotic eagle at top with riband in its beak containing phrase "Morton & Equality," above bold headlines announcing the Democratic nominees for President and Vice-President of the United States, Martin Van Buren and Richard M. Johnson respectively, as well as nominees for Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts, Marcus Morton and Nathan Willis respectively. With additional coverage throughout regarding the 1840 Presidential election between Democrat Martin Van Buren and Whig candidate William Henry Harrison.
