Tortoiseshell ground, premiere and contre-partie case with ormolu foliate mounts and cresting, door with a seated maiden holding an espagnolette and reading an open book with the phrase One Alone Suffices in French, circular dial with Roman chapters, eight-day time-and-strike on bell movement, signed by Jean Pari a Paris, with a J.M.E. stamp; ht 36 in.
