- Lot Description
Late 19th to early 20th century. Includes two Templar swords, by Ames Sword Co. and W.H. Horstmann & sons. Ames blade length measures 29.5" with an overall length of 36.25". Marked Ames SWORD COMPANY CHICOPEE MASS. on ricasso. Blade marked Joseph Warren Commandry O.K.T. and ALONZO MINER MACMURRAY along with typical Masonic symbols. Marked W.H. Horstmann and Sons and Philadelphia on ricasso. Blade has typical Masonic symbols. Ivory grip. Scabbard likewise adorned and inscribed John Lawton along with manufacturer.
1) Very good condition. Blade has minimal tarnishing or darkening. Scabbard has a dull patina but engraving is still clean. Grip has some peeling of finish. Horstman blade length 27.5" with overall length of 35". 2) Good condition. Blade has some darkening and pitting. Brass furniture on hilt and scabbard has developed dull patina. Scabbard engravings clean and well-defined.Condition
