Butler, Samuel. HUDIBRAS, A POEM With Notes, Selected From Grey And Other Authors: To Which Are Prefixed, A Life of the Author, And A Preliminary Discourse on the Civil War, Etc. London: Thomas M’Lean, Bookseller., London 1819. A New Edition, 2 Volumes in gilt tooled and decorated full leather bindings. Complete with 12 hand-colored engraved illustrations. Originally published, in 3 parts, between 1663 and 1678, Butler's Hudibras is a mock heroic poem which makes fun of religion and bad poetry, among other things.

With modest rubbing and wear to the bindings - internally clean. Leaf 207/208 with early paper repair with no loss of text.
