Spruance, Benton. MOBY DICK - THE PASSION OF AHAB. Barre, Mass.: Barre Publishing, 1968. First Edition. Complete portfolio of 26 folio-size (22 by 16 inches) color lithographs with a separate 40 page text bound in grey wrappers (11 by 16 1/2 inches) in pocket on inside cover of clamshell. The text is by Lawrance Thompson. Benton Murdoch Spruance (1904-1967) was a Philadelphia artist who taught at Beaver College in Glenside, Pa. and also at the Philadelphia College of Art. The color lithographs are striking and they correspond to passages from Moby Dick which are printed in the accompanying booklet.
