Lot Description

Wilde, Oscar. SALOME: A TRAGEDY IN ONE ACT. London and New York: Matthews and Lane, 1894. Illustrated by Aubrey Beardsley. 8 1/4 by 6 inches in woven blue cloth with gilt titling and decorations; in custom woven cloth clamshell box. First "Regular" Edition (after a deluxe edition of 125 bound in vellum); one of 500 "printed for England." Complete with 16 page publisher's list of books at the end, dated 1894.

Condition

Covers show foxing and spotting; slight fraying at head and tail of spine; internally Very Good. Clamshell fine.
