Lot Description

Thornton, Alfred. DON JUAN; and DON JUAN HIS LIFE IN LONDON. London: Printed for Thomas Kelly, 1821-1822. First Editions. With 31 inserted aquatint illustrations and bound in a full crushed red morocco fine binding by Root and Son with gilt titling and decorations to the spines and gilt fillet borders to the covers. Abbey, Life in England 323: "The first volume is a parody of Mozart's and Byron's "Don Juan", the second an imitation of Egan's "Life in London."

Condition

A lovely binding with minimal rubbing to the edges. Private collector's bookplate to pastedowns. Few pages with bottom corners creased.
