- Lot Description
Lot of 5 CDVs, the highlight being a rarely encountered, early photograph of Abraham Lincoln's eldest son, Robert Todd Lincoln, with Warren, Cambridgeport, MA backmark. This photograph was taken while Robert was attending Harvard University, ca 1860-1864. Accompanied by 2 commercially printed cartes of Abraham Lincoln, one with backmark of Black & Case, Boston & Newport, RI and handstamp of Joseph Ward, Boston; and 2 uncredited cartes of Mary Todd Lincoln wearing mourning attire, both taken ca 1862 following the death of her son Willie.
Image of Robert Todd Lincoln has lightened a bit, slight loss to top left corner of albumen. Light even toning to each carte. Few with light, scattered spots.Condition
