Lewis Meakin was born in England but came to Cincinnati to study art at the McMicken School of Design at the University of Cincinnati, under Thomas Noble. Meakin later also studied in Munich. In 1890, he was a founder of the Cincinnati Art Club. Though he spent time in Camden, ME, he remained a staple of Cincinnati's vibrant art life, during the second half of the city's Golden Age. His attachment to the Queen City is evident in numerous works, including this attractive view of Mount Adams.

At the request of the buyer, Cowan's will authorize the shipment of purchased items. Shipments usually occur within two weeks after payment has been received.
