- Lot Description
Leather Gamecock Hunting Bag and Powder Horn
9" x 10" bag with leather back and deerskin fur front with leather flap that is secured via disk-shaped iron button. Front leather flap is dated 1808. Stitching on the top back portion of the bag is missing. Straps are secured to the back via stitching as well. Heavy cord stitching tied together at the top to secure the ends of the strap to aid in adjusting the length. 14" horn not engraved; with 4" octagonal neck. Long leather cord is attached to horn via screw in horn's buttplate. This same cord and horn are not directly attached to the bag.Condition
Body of leather bag has a hole in it where the leather has been worn through. Perimeter of the leather on the bag is also heavily worn. Straps with a severe tear that is cut ca 80% through the leather. Good.
