.45-100 caliber, 34" octagonal barrel, S/N 28676. All matching numbers throughout. The barrel features a wind gauge globe and spirit level front sight, with caliber markings at the breech. The top flat panels of the frame feature scroll engravings with an engraved heart pattern border. The left side of the frame is marked Marlin Firearms Co. New Haven CT. U.S.A. / Ballard's Patent Nov. 5, 1861. The left side of the frame features an engraved bear in a circle, surrounded by flowing scroll engravings with an engraved heart pattern border. The right side features an engraved buck in a circle, surrounded by flowing scroll engravings with an engraved heart pattern border. A long range Vernier peep sight is mounted on the tang. With select grain pistol grip stock with deluxe checkering and a horn insert in the underside of the the pistol grip. The butt has a high heel and a checkered steel shotgun type buttplate. The forearm features deluxe checkering with a tapered horn fore end.

The barrel retains nearly all of its original blue finish with some thinning at the barrel edges. The frame retains most of its case colors, with some areas of flat gray in the flat sides. The stock and forearm have some minor nicks and dings but is in very good overall condition. The bore and mechanics are excellent.
