.885 (about 6 bore), 38.25" octagonal-to-round barrel with baluster turned rings at the transition, secured by two keys with a hooked breech. Browned finish with Damascus patterning on the barrel, gold bands at breech, lightly engraved breech, two-screw tang, lock and hammer. Back action percussion lock marked ALBRIGHT / ST. LOUIS. Straight-gripped walnut stock with checkered wrist and smooth forend. Iron mountings with German silver forend cap, escutcheon shield in toe line and barrel wedge escutcheons. Brass front sight bead. Bone tipped wooden ramrod with integral wiper at end secured by a single iron thimble mounted on the barrel's underlug. A nicely made and very crisp large bore hunting gun.
