Lot of 20+ items. Announcement of J.F. Kennedy's Funeral Services, Burial Mass booklet, acknowledgement cards used by Mrs. Kennedy, two invitations for Dedication of Rose Garden, and 1964 calendar/date book with Jacqueline Kennedy in gilt on front. These are from the archives of Mary Barelli Gallagher, with POAs signed by Mrs. Gallagher.
Mary Barelli Gallagher was secretary to John F. Kennedy for 3 1/2 years, beginning in 1952 with his election to the US Senate. After a short leave after the birth of her first son, Gallagher began working part-time for Mrs. Auchincloss (Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis' mother), then part-time (on alternate days) for Jackie. She began working full-time for Mrs. Kennedy with the start of the 1960 Presidential campaign. Her children were close in age to the Kennedy children as well, and they became close. Mrs. Gallagher's time as secretary ended when Mrs. Kennedy moved from Washington to New York about a year after the President's death (mostly to escape curiosity-seekers and tour buses at her Georgetown home). In 1969 she wrote "My Life with Jacqueline Kennedy" (New York: David McKay). In her various roles with the Kennedys, Mary Barelli Gallagher contacted many other associates and acquired a number of items associated with the family.
