- Lot Description
.30-06, 22.5" round barrel, S/N 8015. Parkerized finish, pistol gripped walnut stock. Receiver marked in five lines: CAL. 30.-06 SEMI-AUTO / "JOHNSON AUTOMATICS" / MODEL OF 1941 / MADE IN PROVIDENCE R.I. U.S.A. / 8015. Also with 5-line patent information markings. Right rear of receiver marked with CRANSTON / ARMS in an inverted triangle. Rotary magazine, semi-automatic rifle with adjustable rear sight, post front sight, sling swivels, bayonet lug. A correct pattern bayonet (#2243) and leather scabbard accompany the gun, as well as what appears to be a modified BAR bipod, mounted below the forend. Only about 30,000 Johnson M-1941 rifles were produced and they were used by the US Marine Corp and Dutch government during WWII. This limited production makes this a fairly rare secondary US rifle from that war.
**Requires C&R or FFLVery good. Retains some of the Parkerized finish with scattered spots of minor surface oxidation. Appears mechanically functional, with a good bore that needs to be cleaned. Bolt numbered 8954. Stock with numerous handling marks dings and mars. Bayonet good, scabbard well worn, bipod good as well.Condition
