Lot of 2. Eckert, J.P. (1919-1995). Inventor of the first computer. Typed letter, 1p, 8.5 x 11 in., New York. January 9, 1964.
Between 1948 and 1966 American engineer J.P. Eckert received 85 patents, mostly for electronic inventions. In a portion of the carbon copy of the original typed letter offered here, Eckert writes to C.E. McTiernan of UNIVAC, "Thank you for notifying me in your letter of January 7 of your success in obtaining the ENIAC patent on the first electronic computer..." Included in the lot is the original TLS from McTiernan informing Eckert of his successful patent, dated January 7, 1964 from New York.
Typical folds, slight toning, and some flaking at the top portion of the carbon copy.
