- Lot Description
32" single-edged blade with 21" ricasso. Brass guard and knuckle bow with shagreen grip and lion's head pommel. Blade engraved with broad scrolls, panoplys of arms, cannons, and floral themes with leaf motif extending 12.5" up the spine. Right langlet marked with wreathed cannons with plain shield on left langlet. Ferrule and back of grip adorned with oak leaves and floral themes with front of knuckle bow similarly engraved. No scabbard.
Fair. Blade has a gray coloration with some light rust and darkening throughout. Etchings are faded but still visible with some small dents on edge. Guard has a dull luster with some overall darkening. Wire wrap has been lost with some wear to shagreen exposing wood grip. Some verdigris in low areas of pommel.Condition
