Lot Description

Moore, Clement C. THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS. London: George C. Harapp & Co. Ltd., (1931). Illustrated by Arthur Rackham, including 4 color plates. 6 by 9 inches in original limp vellum, lettered in gilt, pictorial endpapers, top edge gilt, other edges uncut; original board slipcase with printed spine label. First Rackham Edition. No. 244 of 275 copies of the English issue, from a total edition of 550. Signed by Rackham at the limitation statement, as issued. Latimore & Haskell, p.66.

Condition

Light soiling to vellum covers, primarily at the "thumb-pull;" some fairly typical cockling to the leaves otherwise a clean and Very Good example in a worn and cracked slipcase.
