Lot Description

Gross, Chaim. THE SONG OF SONGS. New York: New York Print Club, 1980. First and only edition. # 104 of 200 produced. A suite of nine lithographs each pencil signed in the lower margin. Prints measure 20 3/4 by 17 inches in a 22 1/4 by 18 inch blue cloth clamshell. Gross was born to a Jewish family in Austrian Galicia (now Ukraine) in 1904 and emigrated to the United States at the age of 10. He was educated at the Beaux-Arts Institute and the Educational Alliance where he later taught.
