Picart, Bernard. NEUEROFNETER MUSEN-TEMPLE welcher das allermerkwürdigste aus den Fabeln der Alten in LX. auserlesenen und schönen Kupfern. Amsterdam/Leipzig: Arkstee und Merkus, 1754. 18 1/2 by 12 1/2 inch folio in a modern fine binding of 1/2 leather and marbled boards with gilt stamping and a gilt printed leather label to the spine. FIRST EDITION OF THE TRANSLATION of this richly illustrated mythological work (1st French ed.: 1733) : engraved title and 60 plates in beautifully decorated frames, mostly signed Bernard Picart, accompanied by captions in 4 languages (French, English, German and Dutch).

Condition

The fine binding shows minimal handling wear and rubbing. The contents, including the 60 wonderfully detailed copper plate engravings are fresh and in Near Fine condition.
